I'm a Master!

Well a Master of Vocal Performance anyway. It's official.....I now have a MFA (Master of Fine Arts Degree) in Vocal Performance! I recently finished an hour long vocal recital. It almost seemed like old hat because I have done so many in the past. This time, however, it was the last time I was to do it for a grade. It was great to have mom, dad, and Kellsy there. Also friends from Jerome came and even my first voice teacher, Cindy Rosen, was able to come as she now lives in Boise. I conquered two HUGE comprehensive finals (because I do not do a thesis). I was given three hints to help me point my studying efforts in somewhat of a direction. The written test took me four and a half hours. You would be surprised to hear that it was only three questions long. Essay questions are NOT my favorite. When was all said and done I had written 20 pages and had little energy left. My oral tests was pure torture. All I have to say is being in a room with three very smart and intimidating instructors is worse than essay questions. But glory be I passed and was allowed to graduate!

I never thought I would be this far in my education or at least here at this point in my life, but I am proud to be done with school..........for now. Who knows what the future holds for this chick, but I know it's going to be a fun ride!

This is the year we started our annual tradition of going to the Bruneau Sand Dunes for a Labor Day picnic. Ahh those were the times. If I remember right I worked that morning and we left as soon as I was done and Uncle Ryan drove with us!

The stucco is all done! The color is called caramel candy and our fun neighbor, Andrea, said it was very rich looking, just like suede! We are happy with it. Now comes the hard, yet fun part for us...sanding and painting doors, rebuilding steps, and deck. Anyone and everyone is invited and welcome to come help!

Ok so, having thought about this and trying to plan a set date in vain, Bailey and I have decided to just take a vote as to when to hold (or not to hold I guess) a kind of goodbye party for us before we move.
Make your voices heard to to when, where, and what or forever hold your peace.
I understand that it probably isn't possible to find a date that accommodates everyone, but we really want to try. We were thinking of July 9th, but that doesn't look like it is going to work anymore (sorry to anyone this inconveniences).
But, just let us know. We are up for anything, with enough notice.

Collette auditioned last evening in Boise in the Concerto Aria competition to sing with the Symphony Orchestra. She was among 25 very accomplished performers of which they chose six. She was chosen and we are so proud of her accomplishment! Congrats, Collette, you are an amazing talent. I love it that you are developing and sharing this wonderful gift the Lord has blessed you with and doing what He has in store for you. Best of luck in this exciting opportunity. So we heard back today and I have been accepted to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it's been a while since ANYONE has posted on the family blog. I am still awaiting word on Chad's schooling, as I'm sure he is also. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. We missed seeing everyone over the holidays, but are looking forward to the upcoming camping trip scheduled for June. For those that can't make it, you will be missed.

School Update!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now don't get TOO excited.....we're not announcing any hardcore news just yet. I thought I would give you an update on how the application process is coming.

So far all three schools have told me they have my application.Philadelphia sent me an old fashioned letter saying they have it and will review everything and be in touch. They did send a nifty school catalog too.....

Boston sent me an e-mail that was basically a round about way of saying my admissions test scores weren't good enough. But hey, they did it nicely...kind of like when someone asks "are you really going to wear THAT?" they did say my file was "exceptional".....

Chicago was the last to tell me they have it and, after preliminary review, have deemed me "worthy" to fill out their surprise supplemental application and pay them another $50. Yay! Then after I turn that in, they'll review that and then 4-6 weeks later tell me if they want anything more or if i can schedule an interview. The optometrist I work for now calls it "jumping through hoops" which is what it kind of feels like!

So there we go! Hopefully we'll have some kind of idea by Christmas!

Ok so Bailey and I started school yesterday and so far it hasn't been too bad. What else can you expect from your first two days? Most teachers just shove a syllabus in your hand and kick you out. So, having collected the majority of my syllabi (or is it syllabuses.....who knows) I decided to update you all on how our summer went.

I took the OAT (Optometry Admissions Test) and scored a 300, which is slightly above average. I appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers, etc. as I took it. It really helped! I know get to start the application process, which will end, hopefully, with an interview and eventually acceptance. This may take some time, but we'll keep you all posted to where we'll end up. I'm only applying to four schools: Portland, Chicago, Pennsylvania, and Boston.

Bailey started the Dental Lab Technology program and is loving it so far. She got to make her first teeth mold today and did a fantastic job. She spends her whole day in one classroom, but again, she loves it!

This summer we had the priveledge being with our friends, Matt and Cyndal, as they were sealed in the Logan Temple. Matt has been a good friend of mine for quite some time. We roomed together before I got married.

Its a NEW Car!

Its official. We have purchased a new (well old) car - 1998 Dodge Neon. For those of you who aren't up on the automobile situation of the Clark family. We have been running for a while with 4 drivers and 3 cars. Not the best situation with 3 of us employed full time working in different places at different times and Mom as the Stake RS president and is always on the go.

Anyway, here is a picture of the beast.

Yes, it should look familiar, it is the car Cameron bought when he returned from Chile. I bought it from Cameron when he moved to Pocatello. Collette drove it while she was at CSI, and we sold it to Tyson Frodin 4 years ago when he was headed to ISU for school. He has graduated now and is moving to AZ for employment. Chad thought he saw a For Sale sign on it so I called Tyson.

Long story - short version, he made us a very nice deal, so we bought it. Still runs great, has a few more bumps and bruises but its just a car.

The 2nd Pocatello Clarks

Ok, so here is a little update in our neck of Pocatello (ok, so our neck is like 7 blocks away from Jeremy's neck....but whatever):

Bailey and I finished the supposedly "hardest semester" of college (i.e. the one you get married in) with all A's and B's (you can put which where you want).

We are both working.....hard......ish. I'm still working for Dr. Flandro, the optometrist and loving it. I learn so much everyday about how our eyes work and all that jazz. Oh, and I get lots of practice with glasses, etc. I "get" to (not have to) take the OAT this summer. The OAT is the optometry admissions test (basically the MCAT or GRE for optometry schools). This is a big thing.....since my entire future hinges on my level of success on this test.

Bailey is working and hoping to find another job. We are thinking she's going to start the Dental Technician Program in the fall. (She'll make fake teeth...in case you were wondering.)

We just bought a new car:

a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. Delicious I know.

So that's basically what we are doing. Oh we got callings in our new ward.....Assistant Ward Mission Leader for me and Ward Missionary for Bailey. I'm supposed to go out and find the LA YSA people. The bishop wants me to use my own set of ward missionaries (Bailey is one) and we'll be like a different district in the ward mission, but still under the direction of the Ward Mission Leader. So yeah, yahoo.

Our new apartment is the bomb. We only get one TV station (a fuzzy NBC one) so we've been watching the only TV shows we have (i.e. Scrubs, Seinfeld and CSI).

I think it is awesome how everyone in the Clark family is doing so well in a lot of things. May I first say I love every member of our family and I am so proud of the things you do and accomplish that really make a difference in not only your lives, but in the lives of others. I am in awe at the task these days of raising a family and the challenges it brings, but so encouraged and so pleased that you young parents are figuring it out and doing it with the right priorities. And to my two young single adults, I love the way you have stuck with your values in a disillusioned world. I am grateful for the hard work that each one of you do in being the best you can be in your homes, in your places of employment, in your studies at school, in your church callings, in your neighborhoods and communities, and in your keeping connected with the Clark family. May we all continue to support and love one another in ALL we are trying to accomplish. I appreciate all you do for me!

So i heard this joke and just had to share, I hate to take away from mom's spiritual post, it is a very beautiful nativity and that is the true meaning of christmas, but I think this will bring christmas cheer and laughter...

My Christmas Wish

Basement carpet

Not to take away from Chad's great news and post...but wanted to get pics up of the downstairs carpet like I mentioned I would. We still have some baseboard work to do and door framing, but it is nice to have a bigger room to enjoy tv/movie watching and rock band/guitar hero!

My satellite guy from Gooding is coming Saturday to help get our dish network realigned with two new locations...who knew it would be so difficult!

The Story....W/ Pictures

OK....by request here is how it all happened:

I had the ring about a week ago and had actually bought it the Wednesday before thanksgiving.
Yesterday (12/13) was Bailey's birthday (mark the calendars) and i decided it would be the perfect day to pop the big question.
So, we went out to dinner, and then went to look at some Christmas lights (all part of the plan).
We walked down this road that had a few houses and looked at their lights. At each house, I would ask what would make it better, and then say something lame like "it needs an angel, nativity, etc."
We got to one house and i asked the same thing (i.e. you know what would make this better?) and she just looked away, expecting another lame answer.
I, however, got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of my pocket and said "if you would marry me...Bailey Robertson will you marry me?"
So, she said yes and the water works started (for her....not me.....). So, yeah...there you go.
Oh....we are tentatively looking at March 21st for the day......will keep ya all posted.

New Carpet

I got new carpet in my music room and I love it, especially the new vinyl entry way.(We will be doing the wash room with this same vinyl). The basement family room has the same entry way in front of the door and the chocolate brown carpet should be done Wednesday night. Then we can get everything moved down there for a bigger tv room and finally get our Christmas trees put up. Will post pics of the downstairs when it gets done.

Hey Jef and I have been talking and wondering what everybodies plans are for Turkey day weekend. Jef might have to work on Friday but is not sure so he wanted to know what everybody had going on and where they will be. "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow"...well, sort of!

Ok, you people who enjoyed lots of beautiful snow this past weekend. We were gearing up for the weather forecast advisory for Friday night for 2 to 5 inches of snow after midnight. Well, I was excited to see our dusting of snow Saturday morning and took these pictures of it covering our flowers and our tomatoes…covered with tarps because of the freeze warnings the past couple of nights. Dale and I bundled up and picked 30 lbs of roma tomatoes for his marinara sauce he made. I helped him cut up peppers and tomatoes and then ran errands and did some needed shopping as he finished up and simmered his sauce in the afternoon. Here is a pic of his beautiful results already put away on our storage shelves.

He is such an avid canner and I am amazed at his patience with the whole process. It snowed all afternoon, but the ground was too warm I guess for it to stick. The stores were packed and it was like shopping for Christmas. I was getting excited again because I figured when the temperature dropped, it would probably start sticking. Last check out my bedroom window at midnight Saturday night before I went to bed showed big, beautiful flakes falling and I knew we would wake up to some snow. WRONG! No snow on the ground in Jerome Sunday morning…well, southwest of town where we live. Dale texted a picture from the Seminary building in town where we meet for our YSA branch meetings that showed 2-3 inches. Neighboring towns received a foot of snow between Friday night and Sunday morning. As we drove into church, the closer we got to town, the more snow we saw. And of course it was all melted by noon.

Just wanted to share these delightful creations that Collette has carved and painted, don't want to steal her thunder, I am sure she will blog about it when she gets a chance...but they certainly brighten up our holiday decor.We're having beautiful sunny days this week in the 50’s and upper 60’s. So, no more whining for snow, I am sure we will get it soon enough and hopefully more in the mountains where it is really needed.

Mikelle's Blessing

We traveled to Pocatello to the blessing of our sweet little Mikelle, Jeremy and Sarah's baby, on Sunday, September 21st. I had my camera but didn't take any pictures, I just get so busy visiting and eating and catching up with all that is going on with Chad and with Jeremy's family in Pocatello and Jef's family in Idaho Falls. Jeremy gave a beautiful blessing and the day was very special. We all gathered at the park across from his church and enjoyed the afternoon together with our family and Sarah's. I asked Jeremy to take some pictures of Mikelle in her blessing dress so that I could post them for you all to see. She is a little angel.
Her older brother, Isaak, loves her very much. We are blessed to have such a great family and such sweet grandchildren.

Mission Reunion

Well gang, i recently attended my mission reunion (as of Thursday) in Heber City, UT at my mission president's house. It was just fantastic.

The highlight of the evening was definitely going to visit the grave of my late mission president, President Duke:

One of the senior couples, Elder and Sister Moore, who served with us, gave a wonderful tribute to President Duke. It was appropriate and reflected President Duke's joking nature and his rock solid testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I was so glad to see Sister Duke again:

I had not seen her since she left after President Duke died on my mission. What a wonderful opportunity. I thank the Lord and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to serve the Lord in the Uganda Kampala Mission. We were given a wonderful report on the current status of the work in that great land. Rwanda has been added to our mission, but no proselyting missionaries are currently there. President Christensen visited Sudan and found that land even closer to the gospel than ever. The work is rolling forth amongst those people that I love so dearly. The church is true!

"I Sat on THE Couch Club"

We visited Chad this weekend at Idaho State, we were there for the baby blessing of Jeremy and Sarah's beautiful daughter, Mikelle. (That blog will come shortly) As parents, we are proud of our college son, he is putting his smarts to good use. He has joined and served in many clubs while there at ISU. We found out that he is now undertaking a serious project and is currently serving as President of the "I Sat on THE Couch" Club. Below is a picture of "the beloved couch" that sits in his apartment in Shubert Heights....so pretty and colorful, retro in style...and the main focus of this well organized club... to honor those who have had the privilege of sitting on this beloved couch.

We've decided to shoot for 100....so tell your friends and family.......We should mention that the person who gets the most people to sit on the couch (besides the current officers) may be given a position....and a nifty t-shirt....just saying.....so get on that. "

I am sure that they have upped the numbers since then and of course we added to them with our experience this weekend. And besides sitting on the beloved couch, we were invited to join the "I Sat on THE Couch" Club. ( I personally joined and want a position and will forgo the t-shirt!)
Ah, kids learn SO much these days in college and I personally am glad that my children are applying their education to serious matters in the world!

First Twin Falls Scheduled Temple Sessions!

Yahoo! We are scheduled for sessions in our new Twin Falls Temple the day it is open for regular sessions on August 26th! This temple is by appointment only, so yesterday I called and set up Collette and I to do some iniatory work. We have tons of names that our YSA Branch did the baptisms and confirmations for and we are going to get to work to continue their progress. Dale and I are scheduled for endowment sessions on Thursday evening the 28th and Friday evening the 29th. Friday the 29th, two of our young single adults are going through and then we will be with them and their families the next day for their marriage. We also have baptisms scheduled for September 12th for our YSA Branch, which is totally exciting. We can have two times, one at 5:30pm and the other at 7:30pm to accomodate work and school schedules. Dale reminded the young single adults that instead of having to meet at the stake center 2 1/2 hours before our time in the Boise Temple, we can meet there 1/2 hour before we head over to Twin Falls. So cool! Can you tell I am excited??? Now, if I can just get over the nerves for the upcoming dedication. Out last rehearsal for our dedication choir is in Shoshone this Sunday. We have been practicing a long time and we are all anxious to be a part of this glorious temple dedication. I am going over with the conductor of our dedication choir to check out the organ that is being placed in the celestial room on Tuesday morning, the 18th of Aug. Then our choir will have the last rehearsal there that evening at 7:30. We will meet at the Magic Valley Mall on Sunday, the 24th to be bussed over to the stake center adjacent to the temple an hour before our 4:30 session. We will warm up in the stake center and then walk over to the temple. Our session is the one that will be broadcast outside of our 14 stake area to any stake center that decides to carry it. So Chad and Jeremy will be able to view it in Pocatello and maybe Jef and Sarah in Idaho Falls if their stakes do so. The cornerstone session and the early afternoon session will be broadcast to our 14 stakes. I am so looking forward to this glorious experience and will post all the details soon!

Welcome Mikelle Marie

Jeremy and Sarah welcomed Mikelle Marie, born this evening, coming into the world at 7 lbs. 4.5 ounces and 21" long. They sent pictures via their phone, so here she is. Isn't she beautiful? They ended up taking her c-section, but all is well with Sarah and the baby. Details will follow.

Young at Heart

Here is Dale (l) and Stan Lott, (r) 1st Counselor in the YSA Branch getting ready to hit the waves at Wilson Lake this past Saturday. We had a blast with about 40 young single adults boating, wake boarding, tubing, swimming, and of course, eating. I couldn't believe these crazy guys went out on the tube, but they hung in there with all that the driver of the boat tried to dish out for them to maneuver. Like I have said before...Dale doesn't ask any of his YSA kids to do anything he wouldn't do!

First Day at the TF Temple

Yesterday (7/8) I went with 12 of our YSA from the Jerome 9th YSA Branch and our High Council representative to assist with the 'foot coverings' for the temple tours. We had 8 at the front door putting on the shoe covers and 4 the back door taking them off. (We were told we couldn't call the adventure 'Bootie Duty' - but, hey if the shoe fits...)

We arrived just before 4pm and received instructions on how we were to act and (yes really) how to put the foot coverings on over shoes. Special attention was given on how to keep them on small feet - rubber bands, to clean the wheels on wheelchairs before they were allowed in as well.

We started our 'shift' at 430 with the intent of being done at 8pm. We started out with 3 groups of about 40 Boise Idaho Mission missionaries then it slowed down until about 730. After 730 it really picked up and we were busy until the last tour group at 830 (yep we went over an half hour).

The funnest of all for me was when we were done we were given an opportunity for one more tour -- us. And since I and our HC rep are both 'tour guides' in training. We got to take the YSA thru on a tour. I was given the assignment to lead our tour.

As we started the tour, the YSA were excited and a bit rowdy (hey, who wouldnt be after 4 hrs of bootie duty!), but as we viewed the baptismal font and made our way along the tour to the Celestial room they got quieter and quieter. Hardly a word was spoken as we entered the sealing room, at the end of the tour. Tears were flowing and all were awestruck.

As for the tour guide and his presentation, you will have to ask Collette she can critique for you. But I know there is a lot room for improvement. I am just glad my friends were my first time.

I look forward to next Wednesday when Linda and I get to spend the day meeting, greeting, and giving tours to all comers.

The Exciting Countdown

It is an exciting time for us here in the Magic Valley as we see the end of the long anticipated wait for our temple coming to a close. Dale and I were able to go through the temple on Sunday with other tour guides from our stake and it was breathtaking. As I walked in, tears began to flow because the spirit was there so strong...it is the Lord's house! The original artwork from Idaho artists on the walls are amazing, especially the mural in the first instruction room painted by the same artist that did the Rexsburg Temple. Large falls and springs indigenous to our area are beautifully depicted on the mural. Patterned in the carpet, on walls, and in the stained-glass windows is Idaho's state's flower, the syringa, which definately defines the temple as our own. The oval-shaped baptismal font is patterned after the font in the Nauvoo Temple and made with exquisite marble.

Jerome Stake has July 16 and August 2nd as our tour dates. Dale and I will be doing shifts on the 16th from 8am to 12 noon and then again from 4pm to 8pm. Saturday, August 2nd we will be there from 12 noon to 8pm. Collette and other young single adults from our branch will be serving as ushers on those days and some will be helping with the foot coverings on the July 8th for the first VIP tour given by members of the Seventy.

Collette and I are enjoying our choir rehearsals, our 3-stake choir will perform for the 4th dedicatory session on August 24th. We will be able to go in the celestial room the week of August 18th to practice with the organ. We know for sure that Elder Costa, President of the Idaho Area, Elder Quentin Cook, President Eyring and President Monson will be here. We have given open house tickets to co-workers and have some for our neighbors. Experiencing the missionary zeal is very rewarding. Looking forward to going to this beautiful temple with you all.

The Batmobile Completed

Here is another LEGO project Mason and I completed. It is the Batmobile which boasts 1045 pieces and took us about 5 hours to completed. It is pretty cool because it has a lot of moving parts including fire exhast, moving fans in front, and a bunch of gears. Here are a few pics and a video of the exhast.

The BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN

Many of you have probably seen this, but on the eve of having our fourth child, I got a big kick out of it...

BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN
Preparing for the Birth:
1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month.

Clothing:
1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?

Worries:
1st baby: At the first sign of distress -- a whimper, a frown --- you pick up the baby.
2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.
3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.

Pacifier:
1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.

Diapering:
1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their diaper every two to three hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.

Activities:
1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour.
2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.3
rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner.

Going Out:
1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times.
2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.
3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.

At Home:
1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.

Swallowing Coins:
1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.
2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for the coin to pass
3rd child: When third child swallows a coin, you deduct it from his allowance!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there!!!

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk's office, was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation. She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

'What I mean is, ' explained the recorder, 'do you have a job or are you just a ...?'

'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman. 'I'm a Mom.'

'We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation, 'housewife' covers it,' Said the recorder emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like, 'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar'.

'What is your occupation?' she probed.

What made me say it? I do not know. The words simply popped out.

'I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations.'

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and looked up as though she had not heard right. I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written, in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest, 'just what you do in your field?'

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply,

'I have a continuing program of research, (what mother doesn't)
In the laboratory and in the field, (normally I would have said indoors and out).
I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family)
and already have four credits (all daughters).
Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities, (any mother care to disagree?)
and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it).
But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers
and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door. As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3. Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model, (a 6 month old baby) in the child development program, testing out a new vocal pattern.

I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mom'.

Sarcasma

Anyway, as you know, I work in medicine and the FDA approved a new drug that I think a lot of us, including myself can use, or even, OD on. Reflections

Well, it has been a while since I have physically blogged anything...so I figured it was about time.

I loved conference this weekend...it was amazing. A big plus was me being able to eat injera (Ethiopian food...so good!)

for the first time since being home. It was great and I was able to catch up with my old companion, Elder Brown.

I loved the opportunity to participate in the solemn assembly on Saturday morning (we were privileged enough to have tickets for that session). I know that President Monson is a prophet of God. All sessions of conference were just full of the spirit and very uplifting.

As you could figure, this weekend made me reflect a lot on my mission and the things I have learned from it and the people of Uganda. I love them and miss them. I know the Lord holds a special place for them, as he does for us all, in His perfect heart. Collette sent me this picture:

which is very touching to me. I love Christ so much. I cherish Him and am grateful for all that He has done for me and will continue to do for me.

Uganda is Zion....and will always be one of the greatest places on earth for me!

All Together

We were lucky to be able to visit with ALL of our family this past weekend. That doesn't happen very often. Alisa and family came Friday night to attend a baptism for Grant's sister's son on Saturday and the confirmation on Sunday. They are on their way to St. Louis and will be meeting with the surgeon this week that performed Zadyn's original procedure to assess the progress and plan of action. They are taking the kids and have booked several fun "field trip" adventures while there for school. Jeremy and family came Saturday morning and brought his new birthday present he bought for himself - guitar hero. So once again my living room turned into a rockin' session. I think everyone had a chance to relive their favorite rocker, one of my favorites that I did was Pat Benetar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot". Cameron and family came in the afternoon and did some pretty awesome renditions, too. Way to go Mary, you really stepped it up and rocked pretty awesome. Jef and family were here for Sarah's sister's baby blessing and family dinner. We all were in awe of Jef's "expert" level ability of guitar hero when he brought Cole out in the afternoon Saturday to visit. Logan and Mason were swimming with their Grandpa Doug and Sarah was getting things ready for the birthday party for Mason and Cole that her grandparents in town hosted for everyone Saturday night. Chad and his friend, Bailey, came early Saturday, just in time to join have a quick bite to eat and then put Bailey through the teasing of the family at the birthday party....such as, "wow, we could have two Bailey's in the family" and having all grand kids calling her "Aunt Bailey"! Collette joined the party after work and is always a favorite of the babies.

Sarah's grandparents, Truman and Esther Arbaugh are the salt of the earth. They had all of our family, plus those of Sarah's that were here Saturday night for cake and ice cream. It got a bit noisy at times, but it was special to me and I was very appreciative to them, especially because all the Clark's were there together, along with our niece, Tammy and her son Daniel. Birthday Celebration with Sushi

We celebrated Dale's birthday Tuesday night with sushi at a little restaurant in down town Twin Falls. I am personally not a fan of sushi and don't eat it, but Dale is a great connoisseur and invited some favorite people of his to join us who do: Collette, Lorenzo Mitchell, a good friend from the branch, and Cameron. Thanks, Cameron, for taking the pictures and getting Dale to smile! It was so fun listening to everyone talk about the different types of sushi and their favorites as I ate my chicken dinner. Our host, seeing that I didn't order any suhsi, brought me a fork. We all had a laugh at that. We had a great time and I learned a new appreciation for that type of food...yea, I appreciate the fact that I don't have to like it or eat it! It was good times and good company for Dale's 57th birthday!

We had a fun time celebrating crazy Cameron's birthday Saturday night at Gertie's Pizza. As you can tell, we ALL love pizza, especially Bailee and Braden.

I had fun taking the pictures and probably didn't wait for everyone to get posed, but hey...I am doing better at picture taking for blog entries! We love you, Cam!

Fiery Foods 2008

Well here it is 2 weeks later and I am finally getting around to posting our adventures. It was a great time at the show. We sold lots of sauce had lots of laughs and were very ready to be out of the truck when we all got home. Here are some pics and hope you enjoy.

This is a picture of some great people that were next to us at the show. Does anybody need a sauce cooker? I get 10% commission if I sell one. They loved watching people sample the Original and the reactions people gave. I am glad that somebody appreciates how hot our sauce really is.

Linda and I tending the booth, while Jef and Dale were away sampling. It was late Sunday afternoon and as you can see we had sold all of our sauce off the back table! Yeah!

Michelle and her husband occupied the booth across the way from us. They were a scovie winner and it was their first time at the show. They had so much fun and it was great to see how Dale and I looked last year. So excited! They have a carrot based hot sauce and Chai Tea infused Ketchup. Tasted just like ketchup to me but Linda liked it said it had good flavor, she picked some up.

A great time was had by all and I think Jef and Linda were really excited to see all the people there just to taste and buy hot stuff. We had some repeat customers from last year that was great, because Dale and I actually remembered some of them.
